This week's shortlist combines the TodaysArticleWriter opportunity feed with roles identified through the Inside Digital Edge Remote Jobs Newsletter. The larger source pages displayed 90 listings when this issue was prepared, but a raw count is not the same as a vetted recommendation. Older records, closed applications and roles outside the TAW audience were not included here.
The 12 opportunities below were checked against the publication, employer or recruiting page. Four are freelance publication markets. The remaining eight cover on-camera and edited social content, copywriting, paid search, technical SEO and marketing project management. Compensation appears only where the source publishes it, and geographic or schedule restrictions are called out when they matter.

Freelance Automotive, Technology and Culture Features at The Drive
The Drive invites ambitious reported features about motoring, transportation technology and automotive culture. Editors want original reporting, strong sources and ideas that can engage readers beyond the enthusiast audience. The publication is especially interested in authoritative explainers, technology stories, cultural features and work that connects transportation with design, climate, labor, finance or public policy.
The guidelines say freelance rates generally start around $500 and may rise according to length, ambition, reporting demands and the available monthly budget. Daily news items, very short pieces, fiction, satire and routine road-trip stories are not the target.

Essays, Commentary, Reviews and Selected Features at The Humanist
The Humanist considers specialized articles relevant to humanism, personal experience columns, editorials, book and film reviews, humor, poetry, short fiction and visual work. Most prose submissions should run 1,000 to 3,000 words and include a brief author biography.
The publication says its compensation budget is limited and generally reserved for a small number of highly developed features involving substantial reporting or analysis. Writers who are primarily seeking a paid assignment should account for that limitation before preparing a full submission.

Freelance Journalism and Media-Criticism Pitches at The Objective
The Objective accepts pitches examining systems of power and inequity in journalism, including how newsrooms treat employees, how journalists work with communities and what different forms of journalism could look like. A strong pitch should make clear why the story belongs with The Objective rather than a general media outlet.
The current page states a budget of $0.50 per word, while noting that particular projects may use different rates. The newsroom may not answer every pitch and asks writers to wait at least one week before following up.

Guest Articles and Themed Features at Christ and Pop Culture
Christ and Pop Culture typically reserves one weekly slot for a guest writer and publishes longer features around predetermined themes. The current page lists unpaid guest articles at 1,000 to 2,000 words and paid features at 1,500 to 3,000 words for $75.
Writers should submit an abstract or summary rather than a finished draft. The form also asks for links to two or three writing samples. Reviewing recent film, television, music, books, politics, technology, sports and internet coverage will help applicants understand the publication's editorial approach.

Content Creator at TubeScience
TubeScience is recruiting an on-camera creator to shoot as many as 10 pieces of social content per week for direct-to-consumer brands. The work combines UGC-style presentation, smartphone production, B-roll, basic editing and collaboration with creative strategists. Performance data helps determine what the creator produces next.
Applicants need social-video experience, comfort on camera, familiarity with tools such as CapCut or Premiere and a portfolio that shows original work. The employer says a traditional advertising background is not required. The role may grow into a full-time visual strategy position.
Blogging
Video Editor and Motion Graphics Designer at TubeScience
This performance-focused position edits short-form advertisements for TikTok, Meta and YouTube Shorts. The editor will build hooks, story arcs and calls to action, then work with strategists and creative leads to test and improve the output.
TubeScience asks for at least three years of social video editing experience, strong Premiere Pro skills, working knowledge of After Effects and availability from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Pacific Time. AI creative tools, performance marketing experience and data-informed optimization are listed as advantages.
Blogging
AI Video Editor at Native Commerce
Native Commerce wants an editor who can turn podcasts, webinars and other long-form recordings into platform-native clips for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts. The work combines editing, captions, pacing and performance analysis with AI-assisted B-roll, voice, avatar and visual workflows.
Applicants should have at least three years of relevant experience or a portfolio demonstrating comparable ability. The role also requires experience repurposing long-form material, handling feedback and shipping consistently in a remote environment. The source states that compensation is competitive but does not publish a numerical range.
Copywriting
Copywriter at Moniepoint
Moniepoint is hiring a copywriter to work across product, marketing, growth, CRM, social and design. Assignments include campaign concepts, product launches, performance ads, scripts and customer education for financial products. The writer will also translate complex financial information into clear, relatable messaging.
Applicants should have at least three years of professional copywriting experience and a portfolio showing work created from scratch. Experience across campaigns, product launches, CRM, performance marketing and social platforms is important because this is a multi-channel role rather than a narrow advertising assignment.
Copywriting
Remote PPC and SEM Specialist at Coalition Technologies
This paid-search role combines keyword research, ad copy, campaign setup, testing, reporting and performance analysis across Google Ads, Bing Ads and Facebook Ads. Applicants need at least six months of campaign-management experience, comfort working with large data sets and the ability to connect campaign decisions with return on investment.
Coalition Technologies welcomes international candidates, but the schedule follows Pacific Time. Its published $17 to $35 hourly range applies to candidates in California, New York, Washington and Colorado. The employer notes that compensation elsewhere may fall outside that range.
SEO & Content Marketing
Remote SEO Specialist at Coalition Technologies
Coalition Technologies is seeking an SEO specialist for audits, keyword research, content optimization, structured data, internal linking, local search, technical fixes and AI-assisted workflows. The role calls for familiarity with crawling and competitive-analysis tools, plus basic HTML and CSS.
The listing also emphasizes AI search trends, entity-based SEO, schema, site performance and conversion analysis. Its published pay range applies to candidates in California, New York, Washington and Colorado, while pay in other locations may differ.
SEO & Content Marketing
Remote SEO Project Manager and Marketing Project Manager at Coalition Technologies
This client-facing position leads SEO workflows, campaign planning, deliverable review, team coordination and performance reporting. Applicants need experience with SEO, Google Ads and project management, along with the ability to manage deadlines and communicate clearly with clients and internal teams.
WordPress, Magento, web development and technical skills are helpful but not mandatory. As with the other Coalition roles, the published $17 to $35 range applies to California, New York, Washington and Colorado and may not represent compensation elsewhere.
SEO & Content Marketing
Senior Google PPC Specialist and Paid Search Specialist at DOE Media
DOE Media is recruiting an experienced paid-search specialist to develop Google campaign strategy, analyze performance, report results and create and test campaign copy. The role requires strong ecommerce experience, Google Analytics knowledge and the ability to connect advertising decisions with customer acquisition and account growth.
The listing asks for at least five years of ecommerce Google Search and Shopping experience. Additional platform experience with Facebook, Pinterest or Snapchat is described as a bonus. The employer does not publish a compensation range.
What This Week's Listings Tell Writers
Writing remains the foundation, but employers increasingly hire for writing inside a larger production or measurement system. The copy and search roles combine language with customer behavior, analytics, product knowledge or campaign performance. The multimedia roles expect creators to understand hooks, pacing, platform formats and the data that shows where viewers stop watching.
The freelance markets still reward traditional reporting, subject knowledge and editorial fit. They also show why writers must distinguish a paid market from an exposure opportunity. One publication states a per-word rate, another gives a starting feature rate, one pays only selected longer features and one separates unpaid guest posts from paid themed work.
Before You Apply or Submit
Match the sample to the assignment. Reported features belong in a journalism pitch. Social-video roles need a reel that demonstrates pacing and platform fluency. Copywriting applicants should show campaigns, product messaging or performance copy. Search applicants need evidence of audits, keyword work, technical implementation or measurable campaign improvement.
Listings change quickly. TodaysArticleWriter.com checked these pages while preparing the October 20, 2026 issue, but employers and publications can revise or close an opportunity without notice.
